Jetty Repairs

The Jetty repairs are now complete.  The work has been signed off and all snagging works completed.

The necessary environmental and health & safety licenses have now been granted.  The repairs to the jetty are scheduled to start on Monday 7th October.  It is anticipated the works will be completed at the end of November.

The contractor will start to move material and equipment on site the week commencing 30th September.  The first part of the works is to erect the scaffolding around the jetty and this is scheduled to begin October 7th to coincide with the Spring tide.

In order to access the lower parts of the jetty it is necessary for the contractors to work either side of low water.  Thus the hours on site will vary by an hour each day depending on the tide.

An area of estate road along the Itchen River close to the jetty will be
cordoned off for the contractor to store materials, tools & vehicles (highlighted RED in the plan) .  This area has been chosen as it provides the easiest access for large vehicles whilst also being close to the jetty, without impeding on residents marked parking spaces.  It would be appreciated if you could avoid parking in this area from 29th September.  Once unloaded the materials will be hand balled to the jetty to avoid disruption on the estate roads.

Obviously during the works the jetty will be closed to the residents.
